Before colonial rule, it was home to native Visayan settlers who practiced traditional farming and fishing. The Spanish period saw the introduction of Christianity and European farming methods, which shaped local livelihoods. During American rule, infrastructure improved, and access to education expanded. The barangay, like the rest of Siquijor, experienced hardships during World War II but emerged stronger in the post-war years. Today, Cang-agong continues to honor its heritage while embracing modern development.<\/p><p>barangay cang-agong is one of fourty (42) barangays of the Municiplaity of Siquijor, Philippines which a total land area of 679,918 hectares.&nbsp; It has a total population of 1,188 with 318 of CY 2024.<\/p><p><br><\/p><p>Long, time ago during the time of grandparents, there was a chieftain living in this place.
